Many women decide to go a rather non-traditional route and decide to figure out how to get a boyfriend through dating agencies. This is an idea that has been kicking around for several years now, and has become even more popular with the introduction of home computers and the Internet. Dating agencies first came on the scene as early as the 18th century. These were operated by clergymen so you can just imagine what THOSE were like. However, these should be credited with evolving into the dating agencies that are found today.

Dating agencies were not always online. They were in real brick and mortar buildings in offices. These are still in existence today. The idea is to complete extensive profiles on each client and then match them to other clients with enough similarities to, hopefully, enable a connection. For the people who decided to go this route, there were, and are, many success stories.

The process is pretty basic overall. You choose the agency you want to try and make an appointment. During your consultation, you will be asked questions based on what you are hoping to achieve in your experience with the agency. The fee deserves a bit of focus here because this is, sometimes, the deal killer. Put simply, these dating agencies are NOT cheap. Keeping this in mind, the higher their success rate, the higher the fee. This is something that you should give serious consideration to before even making that initial consultation appointment. If you have been single for a while and are making decent money which you have also been saving, it probably won’t be such a big deal to you, especially if you are looking at this as your last resort. However, if you are on a tight and fixed budget, you will probably want to look in another direction.

If you choose to sign with this agency, the next step will be to complete a rather lengthy and complicated questionnaire about yourself and what sort of guy you are looking for. It is advised that you are completely honest on this questionnaire or you may find yourself quite disappointed in the results. Following the completion of this part of the process, you may be asked to do a short introductory video of yourself. A lot of people hate this part but the agency’s staff do all they can to make it as painless as possible.

Once you have completed the process, you sit back and wait. The agency will review your questionnaire and match you up with some likely candidates. These candidates will be contacted and get a chance to see your video. If they like what they see, you will be hearing from the agency. Then you are given the chance to view some videos of your matches to see if you are interested in any of them. With any luck, you will hit it off with one of them and have your new boyfriend.
