Practical Advice on How to Flirt with a Guy

When you have an understanding of how flirting works, there are some other key points to keep in mind. These have very little to do with what is going on in the mind of the guy you are flirting with. Practicality plays a big part in how successful your flirting will be. Use some common sense and try out some of the following suggestions the next time you go on the prowl. You might be amazed at the results.

* Make the most of your appearance. While this is extremely shallow, it is also a fact that men are attracted by beauty. This does not mean you have to look like a super model every time you go out, but definitely be clean and look pretty if you are planning to flirt. Put on some alluring perfume, too. Gloss or lipstick helps to perk up your smile. Your teeth should be freshly brushed and your breath minty fresh. All of this just makes sense because guys are not going to flirt with a girl who can’t take care of herself.

* Appear sweet and vulnerable at first. It is true that some guys are really turned on by tough biker type chicks, but most men are drawn to the sweet girl who has a dynamite personality. Be kind and compliment others. This is preferable to backstabbing gossip. A little shyness doesn’t hurt, either. A classic move in flirting is to try looking up at the guy through your eyelashes. It works every time!

* Show the guy that you’re interested. If you really want to score points with a guy, get him to talk about himself. This is actually quite high on the list of flirting tips. Most men love talking about themselves and the girls who are entranced with listening are considered very attractive by these men. Therefore, a good way of flirting is to also be a good listener. Ask questions, but only if you are sincere in knowing the answers. When a guy starts telling you something about himself, tell him how great that is and how you want to know more about that. He will be wrapped around your little finger.

* Offer praise, but not too much. Guys love compliments much as women do. Tell him how nice his clothes look on him, or that you love his new haircut, or that his cologne is really hot. Remember, though, that your compliments must come off as sincere because anyone can tell when a compliment is not real. So it’s usually better to only compliment something you really like about him. Another good trick is to notice when he’s done something new or different about his appearance. This shows an interest while not appearing desperate.

* Be graceful in accepting compliments. When you are trying to learn how to get a guy to flirt with you, it’s a good idea to be casual in accepting compliments. Don’t go overboard with it. Just say thank you and smile. Guys hate it when girls brush off a compliment.
